I received a couple notes this week which were incredibly encouraging and I marveled at how valuable it was to be bolstered by people I respect. Receiving encouragement can really change the trajectory of your day…and even your work in general.

The rub is that you can’t get organic, meaningful encouragement on your timetable. The only kind of encouragement you can control is the kind you give to others.

So spread it around. Noticing the good work of those around you and feeding those observations back to them will give them a boost and sow the seeds of a culture in which noticing and encouraging are commonplace.
